    Calling all MAFA members interested in marketing and in building lasting relationships with a Google mentor working in Sales, Marketing, and Media positions.   MAFA is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual MAFA mentor program is now accepting applicants. Apply for an opportunity to build your network and learn something new!! The MAFA/Google Mentor program is a NY based program, that accepts applicants from the NY, Chicago and LA areas. The ideal applicant would be a MAFA member, who is a professional with 1 – 8 years of working experience (although if you’re a great applicant passionate about this opportunity, who doesn’t meet the experience requirement, please don’t shy away from applying).   To apply for this amazing opportunity please submit your resume and a short statement explaining why you would like to be a MAFA/Google mentee, and what unique perspective you will bring to the group by May 2nd, 2011 to aafmafa@gmail.com.  To those in the Chicago and LA areas interested in applying, please note that all events take place in the NY area, but mentors in your area will be assigned and virtual participation in events will take place when possible. You’ll still have an opportunity to build a relationship with a Googler as well as make new peer connections in your industry. “Participating in the Google/MAFA mentorship back in 2009 allowed me the opportunity to not only connect with my industry peers who were starting their careers along with me, but it also helped to expand my network and served as a guide through my first few months in the industry. The Mosaic Alumni & Friends Association (MAFA) connects advertising and communications professionals of color who are alumni of the AAF Most Promising Minority Students Program , the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC), Mosaic Career Fairs, AAF College Chapters, Alpha Delta Sigma Honor Society and supporters of AAF’s Mosaic Center. MAFA members are able to maintain and build new relationships with a network of over 300 advertising and communications professionals,participate in career development initiatives, support minority youth aspiring to enter the business and stay knowledgeable and involved in industry diversity and inclusion efforts.
